Shaikh Isa Causeway Bridge Project
The Causeway connects North Muharraq with the Diplomatic Area in the northern part of Manama. The design of the bridge with two sail-like structures was chosen to depict Bahrain’s traditional pearl diving culture. The 2.5km causeway was opened for traffic on 4 Jan 1997.
